Things To Do

Our Holiday Club may be over for another year, but here are a few ideas to keep you busy while you're waiting for next year. You can also check out our series of mini treasure trails if you feel like a little exercise and our songs page to keep you in the mood until next time.

Christmas Crafts

Here are a couple of Christmas craft activities that we enjoyed at "Countdown to Christmas".

First, here's our very own super-crafter Joan demonstrating the angel crafts that we made during the session. There are two different versions included - one for younger children and a slightly more intricate one for those who like something more challenging.

Next, here is Martha Collison showing how to make stained glass biscuits. You can find her recipe here.

Finally, here's a great live (puppet) action advent calendar from John Hardwick. Why not watch one a day through December?

Things to do all year round

Messy Church is for all the family and takes place at All Saints in Sawtry throughout the year. You can read more details, find some at-home resources and get in touch to be put on the contact list here.

Duggie-Dug-Dug's Crazy Stay At Home Roadshows is a whole series made during the COVID lockdowns and available on YouTube - with puppets "Loo" and "Rolls", crazy science experiments, sign-language songs and activities you can try at home.

Sawtry Light Factory is run by the churches of Sawtry and we'd love to see you at any of our Sunday or mid-week activities. For more information about what's going on, check out the websites for Sawtry Methodist Church, All Saints Church and St Benedict's Roman Catholic Community.

You may have already heard the UK Blessing, which was written and recorded as a blessing over our nation in 2020. This is a version featuring kids from different nations. "The Lord bless you and keep you, make his face shine upon you and give you peace."
