Any Questions?

Who are we?

Sawtry Light Factory is an annual project run by the churches of Sawtry, offering a full week of fun activities including games, crafts, workshops, drama, songs and Bible stories for children aged from 5 upwards. The club usually runs in the first full week of August.

The first Light Factory holiday club took place in 2001, so we are now in our 24rd year. Each year we have been delighted to welcome between 40 and 100 children, with many returning year after year, and some even becoming team members themselves.

Who can attend?

Our activities are mostly aimed at infant and junior-age children, with a separate group for those attending secondary school. The only requirement is that children must have at least completed their reception year.

What are the session times?

There are two sessions each day and you'll need to pick up your children and take them home for lunch in between. Morning sessions (Monday to Friday) take place between 10am and 12 noon at the Methodist Church. Afternoon sessions (Monday to Thursday) are between 2.30 and 4.00pm, either in the church or outdoors, usually on the Junior School playing field. Friday evening is an all-age event to which the whole family is invited and our finale takes place at 10.30am on Sunday.

How much will it cost?

Nothing at all! It is our pleasure and privilege to provide this activity for our community completely free of charge. In addition to support from Sawtry churches and individual donors, we are also grateful for an annual grant from Sawtry Parish Council.

What about Safeguarding?

All of the team members participating in our activities are DBS checked and trained in safeguarding procedures. Read our safeguarding policy for more information.
